Marco devil fruit is a mythical zoan

A Fruit that gives him the ability to into a phoenix.

His Devil fruit abilities also makes him regenerate quickly.

Marco can regenerates the damage he has taken in his human form when he revert back to phoenix form.

And also because of his great regeneration abilities

Black beard Also known as Marshall D. Teach

a devil fruit user who was first know to have 2 devil fruits.

BlackBeard might also steal marco's devil fruit.

which will enables him to regenerates faster.

Black beard's yami yami no mi makes him takes damage like other normal human being or even more, which is why he also needs this ability to regenerate the damage he has taken.

However yami yami no mi abilities can absorb attacks but he can fail to absorb those attack.

But Blackbeard can learn or master his CoO. which can also makes this devil fruit of marco useless if he can dodge or absorb all other attack.
